Prime Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has instructed the police to be extra vigilant, especially given the reopening of schools and educational institutions, as well as the timing of ceremonies and Assembly votes.

With the arrest of four other members of the ISI-backed terrorist module involved in an IED 'Tiffin' oil tank bombing operation last month, Punjab Prime Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on Wednesday ordered that more attention be paid to the province.
This is the fourth case that a Pakistani terrorist module has been released from the government 40 days ago.
Two Pakistani terrorists, including a Pakistani intelligence official, were also identified and charged at the Ajnala police station, where one person had been arrested earlier, DGP Dinkar Gupta revealed on Wednesday.
Focusing on the increased efforts of terrorist groups to disrupt state peace, Prime Minister Amarinder Singh has instructed the police to be extra vigilant, especially given the reopening of schools and educational institutions, as well as the festive season and Parliament polls ahead.
The Prime Minister called on the DGP to ensure that high security arrangements are made, especially in busy areas, such as markets, etc., as well as critical installation across the country.
Providing details of the arrests, the DGP identified ISYF chief Pak-Lakhbir Singh and Qasim, a Pakistani citizen, and Lakhbir Singh Rode @ Baba, a native of Rode village, PS Samalsar, Moga district, currently based in Pakistan, as the backbone of the terror module.
Those arrested yesterday were identified as Rubal Singh of Bakha Tara Singh village, Vicky Bhutti of Ballharwal, Malkeet Singh of Ugar and Gurpreet Singh of Gopi both of Uggar Aulakh.
When Rubal, who was also wanted on September 1, 2021 murder, was picked up in Ambala on Tuesday, the other three were arrested in their villages in Ajnala, Amritsar. A fifth accomplice, Gurmukh Brar, was earlier arrested by Kapurthala police on August 20, 2021.
The DGP said a Pakistani intelligence official, known as Qasim, and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) Chief Rode had promised to transfer more than Rs 2 lakh to the terrorist module to carry out the bombing. Investigations into financial aspects are also being conducted to unlock financial trends, he added.
Rubal and Vicky Bhutti were in contact with Qasim, who worked closely with Rhode. Rode and Qasim allegedly ordered four members of a terrorist module to blow up an oil tank that caused extensive damage to people and property.
A terrorist attempt took place on August 8, 2021, when Ajnala police received information that an oil tank (PB-02 CR 5926) had been parked at Sharma Filling Station Ajnala, on the Amritsar-Ajnala road near the village of Bakha Tara Singh, a fire. The fire was controlled by firefighters and the VEHICLE was registered in PS Ajnala according to a statement from Ashwani Kumar Sharma of Ajnala.
About August 15, police arrested two soldiers, followed by the discovery of a weapons depot, grenades and more.
Another terrorist module exploded on August 20, 2021, when Kapurthala police found another 'Tiffin bomb' IED with no more than five rounds of ammunition, one coffin, two tubes suspected to contain RDX, one .30 carrying a firearm, four magazines. -Glock and another very explosive call from Gurmukh Singh Rode and Gagandeep Singh.
Recently, Ferozepur Police arrested Darvesh Singh who revealed that he had been in constant contact with Lakhbir Singh Rode and collected weapons, Tiffin bomb IEDs, RDX and heroin, which were pulled over drones from across the border in Ferozepur district.
Darvesh Singh has been arrested on a criminal charge registered with the Mamdot police station under the NDPS, the Explosives Substances Act and the UA (P) Act.
